Translation Invariance

Translational symmetry

Translation in geometry refers to moving a figure without rotating it. In physics and mathematics, translational symmetry refers to the invariance of a system under any translation, while discrete translational symmetry is invariant under discrete translation. Laws of physics are translationally invariant if they do not distinguish different points in space, and translational symmetry of an object forms a group or subgroup of its symmetry group.

11-785 Introduction to Deep Learning

Carnegie Mellon University

Spring 2020

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to deep learning, starting from foundational concepts and moving towards complex topics such as sequence-to-sequence models. Students gain hands-on experience with PyTorch and can fine-tune models through practical assignments. A basic understanding of calculus, linear algebra, and Python programming is required.
