OpenZFS is an open-source implementation of the ZFS file system and volume manager that supports features like data compression, deduplication, snapshots, and RAID-Z. It has self-healing capabilities, making it suitable for mission-critical applications. OpenZFS is widely used in enterprise and data center environments and is available for multiple operating systems. It is being merged with ZFS on Linux to create OpenZFS 2.0, which will include new features and performance enhancements.
