Carrier Grade NAT

Carrier-grade NAT

Carrier-grade NAT is a type of network address translation used by ISPs to share small pools of public IPv4 addresses among many end users. It is often used to mitigate IPv4 address exhaustion and can be used in scenarios such as NAT444 or Dual-Stack Lite. CGNAT techniques were first used in 2000 for mobile networks and have since increased significantly.
