Objective-Based Clustering

Cluster analysis

Cluster analysis is a task of grouping objects into clusters based on their similarity. It is used in many fields such as pattern recognition, image analysis, information retrieval, bioinformatics, data compression, computer graphics and machine learning. It was first introduced in anthropology in 1932 and to psychology in 1938. It is an iterative process of knowledge discovery or interactive multi-objective optimization that involves trial and failure.
