The natural environment encompasses all living and non-living things occurring naturally on Earth. It includes the interaction of all living species, climate, weather and natural resources that affect human survival and economic activity. In contrast to the natural environment is the built environment, which is where humans have fundamentally transformed landscapes. The degree of naturalness in an environment can vary from 100% natural to 0%. Human activities such as climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution have had a significant impact on natural environments.
