Transitive relation

Transitive relation

In mathematics, a relation R on a set X is considered transitive if for all elements a, b, c in X, when R relates a to b and b to c, then R also relates a to c. This property is required for each partial order and equivalence relation. Additional properties may be needed depending on the term's definition.
