Transit vs. Peering

Peering

Peering in computer networking refers to the voluntary interconnection of separate Internet networks to exchange traffic without any payment between parties. This is achieved through physical interconnections, routing information exchange, and adherence to conduct norms. In rare cases, a formal contract may be involved, but in most instances, peering is settlement-free.
