Record charts are rankings of recorded music based on criteria such as sales, airplay, downloads and streaming activity. They are usually specific to a genre or location and cover a period of one week. Yearly and decade-long summary charts are calculated from the weekly charts, and radio and TV programmes often feature chart rundowns. Individual songs can also be measured by their component charts.
