Tight upper/lower bounds

Upper and lower bounds

An upper bound is an element of a preordered set that is greater than or equal to every element of a subset. A lower bound is an element of the same set that is less than or equal to every element of the subset. Sets with upper and lower bounds are said to be bounded from above and below, respectively.
