Mechanism design

Mechanism design is an economics and game theory field that uses an objectives-first approach to create economic mechanisms or incentives. It is also known as reverse game theory and has applications in economics, politics, market design, auction theory, social choice theory, and networked systems. It studies solution concepts for private-information games and was awarded the 2007 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
