Streaming

Streaming media

Streaming media is a method of delivering multimedia content without the need for intermediate storage. It can be used to deliver audio, video, and other forms of media such as live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text. Livestreaming requires additional components such as source media, an encoder, a media publisher, and a content delivery network. Streaming is different from file downloading, as it allows users to start playing digital content before the entire file has been transmitted.
