Continuous Probability

Probability distribution

A probability distribution is a mathematical function that gives the probabilities of occurrence of different possible outcomes for an experiment. It describes a random phenomenon in terms of its sample space and the probabilities of events within it. Special distributions are used to compare relative occurance of many different random values, and can be defined for discrete or continuous variables.
