Specificity

Sensitivity and specificity

Sensitivity and specificity are terms used to describe the accuracy of a test that reports the presence or absence of a condition. They measure how well a test can identify true positives (sensitivity) and true negatives (specificity), respectively, and there is usually a trade-off between the two. The terms were introduced by American biostatistician Jacob Yerushalmy in 1947.
