Audio editing software is a computer program that allows for the manipulation and creation of audio data, which can be implemented in various ways such as a library, computer application, web application, or loadable kernel module. Wave editors are a type of digital audio editor and there are many sources of software available to perform these functions, including music editing, applying effects and filters, and adjusting stereo channels. A digital audio workstation (DAW) is largely composed of software and includes multiple distinct components accessed through a unified graphical user interface, used for tasks like recording or producing music and sound effects.
