Systems theory is a transdisciplinary study of systems, which are cohesive groups of interrelated components that can be natural or human-made. It seeks to develop broadly applicable concepts and principles, and distinguish between active and passive systems. It is related to systems thinking, machine logic, and systems engineering, and is used to model a system's dynamics, constraints, conditions, and relations.
