Theory

Theory

A theory is an abstract form of thinking about a phenomenon, based on research and observation. It is the most reliable form of scientific knowledge and is distinguished from hypotheses and laws. The term "theory" is sometimes used incorrectly to explain something that has not been tested or experienced. Theory is contrasted with practice, which involves trying to make people healthy.
